fireworks and the rest of it

So much has happened in the last two weeks. How to document? Paragraphs? Numbered lists (but then what comes first?) Random bullets? Or whatever pops into my head (we have a winner!)

Random #1
We celebrated. I made the infamous Danish layer cake. It layered. It had jam, custard and strawberries. It turns out I was using the wrong cookbook. This fancy-schmancy was for the family, and it only happened because when the husband was sent to the German Market for their pre-made layer cake, he returned home empty handed. Claimed they were sold out.

Random #2
Grandpa showed up on the actual birthday to watch Elena play her ball game, and to take her for a ride in his new car. We had to explain what “convertible” meant, but now that she knows, it looks like she just might want one!

Random #3
We fed the dog left over pizza from the party when we invited all the kids and had the sleepover.

Random #4
The flowers exploded, and I squeezed in time to weed.

Random #5
There was a graduation, not a “big” one, but it made me cry anyway. Being a mom comes with a lot of perks. Being on the grad committee wasn’t necessarily one of them, (but I’d do it again!) because it was such a wonderful evening.

Random #6
Seriously? I actually thought I’d get the fireworks in this post, too?
