it’s 10:31 on a thursday morning

At this point, how much are we creatures of habit?  I’m faced with unseasonably warm weather for January; the type of temperatures that are almost spring-like; but being programmed so extensively for the past 37 years that January should be cold enough to freeze your fingers off, I can’t seem to snap out of my hibernation mode!

All I want to do is knit, interspersed with a few naps.

Yesterday did see us out of the house, a nice 2 kilometer walk with the dog.  The birds were so loud in the bushes that you could barely hear yourself speak, and the dog was on high-alert for squirrels.  More of the same today, with some grocery shopping.

It’s good, it’s more than good, but it’s just so not-normal that I don’t even know how to take advantage of it!

It’s unseasonably warm here too, but the days are still short, and the light is still so bluish cold – it still feels very much like winter to me, sans snow!

Perspective is funny. We’re feeling like it’s crazy cold (down in the 20s and 30s when we woke up the past couple of days) but at about 50ish now, I guess it’d be warm to anyone who lives where it snows. To me, it’s downright freezing. :-)
