one good wind

Suddenly, (and it was just over night) and we’ve got bare trees in the neighborhood. Completely denuded, and leaving me feeling just a little taken aback, just a little bereft. Too soon! Oh, for heavens sake, we were just enjoying the beautiful fall colours, and now they all get stripped away. Bare branches that I’m not ready for just yet.

Those bare branches bring a certain anxiety to the next few days, as I feel the pressure to hurry scurry to the allotment to clean up the rest of it. It must be cleared off by October 15, or the city claims the right to “take away” your plot and put it up for grabs on the waiting list. Yikes. As usual, September went by way too fast this year!

What’s that saying? Do what you can and let the rest take care of itself? Ha!

The cold season seems to arrive always too suddenly :(

Those leaves are barely hanging on for dear life here, and we had our first real frost last night. I love fall, but the reality of what’s coming is beginning to sink in. Suddenly I’m remembering how I hate scraping off the car every morning!

Hello :D And thank you for you truly lovely comment on knitsofacto :D

The leaves are only just beginning to turn here, I suspect there will be little autumn colour for us this years as warm weather is forecast :(
