Oh, a full week of interesting stuff!
The first couple of days were for me; the annual landscape and garden centre trade show kept me busy on Tuesday and Wednesday. Workshops and networking, while learning about new products, trends and plants for 2014. I love learning about the tree trials of different species and hybridizations. It’s fascinating to see how the industry is trying to meet specific needs for the prairie region while marrying customer demand with plant capability; one example: grafting a bur oak root (for soil compatibility) to a pin oak (for red fall colour). Love it.
Friday (Valentine’s Day) was party day. I’m good with parties, but this was for a bunch of teenagers…which I’m not good with. To say that a houseful of kids puts my teeth on edge is not flattering, in fact almost embarrassing; but that is why Chadd manages the party, trouble shoots, and keeps an eye on things until the designated pick up time. (I organize food, activities and shop). God knows I love that man. Elena had a great time with all her friends for their first “real” party.
And this weekend, some sewing on my new craft desk, hanging some new artwork, and trying a new recipe!
